This past week we attended Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week and we covered the full week, getting to as many of the 35 shows as we could. At the beginning of the week we were asked to team up with Nokia to try the new Nokia Lumia 1020 to use and share our fashion week experience.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is quite an impressive little phone. It is the only smartphone with a 41 megapixel camera sensor, full HD video and Nokia Rich Recording for audio capture and the picture quality is seen in the pictures we were able to take. The Lumia 1020 also has the option to switch between a user-friendly auto-focused camera and a Pro Camera mode which gives you the options to select the white balance, the focus, the iso sensitivity, the shutter speed and the brightness. While we loved the Pro Camera for capturing beautiful creations coming down the runway, the automatic steady focus in the basic camera was great for shooing at after parties. We were also blown away by the HD video camera as the video recording comes out very clear and vivid (Ellie Goulding recorded her whole How Long Will I Love You video using the Nokia Lumia 1020!)
We normally use our big Nokia DSLR camera while at the shows and were a little worried about using a phone as our only source of media capture, but the camera works just as good as a DLSR camera and had a lot of the same settings. It was a little intimidating at first, especially with having all the options to play with like Nokia Creative Studio which is a fun editing app, but once the runways shows started we were able to take some great photos and video (more details on the video soon).
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is available on the Microsoft Store for Rogers and Telus. For more detailed information on the phone click here.
